Norway walk

Writer's picture: Sheena at PlaysongsSheena at Playsongs

It's winter time again and there's no better way to warm up than by getting some exercise with this little Norwegian game. No need to go out in the snow, it's cold enough inside!

Sit baby on your knee, facing outwards. Hold an ankle in each hand. ‘Walk’ baby’s feet on the beat; cross them over each other on ‘chop’; rub toes on ‘freezy feet’; ‘run’ feet and jump baby into the air and down on ‘Home!’. The melody of the song is by the Norwegian composer, Grieg. We hope he’d like it used as a baby game.

Find this and lots of other energetic games on our Playsongs website in Playsongs Grand Exercise: songs and rhymes for energetic grandparenting ~

Walk to the woods, Walk to the woods,

Chop some logs, Chop some logs,

Freezy feet, freezy feet, Freezy feet, freezy feet, Freezy feet, freezy feet,

Run run run run run run Run run run run run run Run run run run run ~

HOME!
